I created this site for two primary reasons, first as someone who grew up LDS, I understand where you are coming from and the issues you face. I realize that it is difficult to read anything that may seem contradictory to "the Church". However, I'm hoping and praying that you see my heart, and know that I don't have a personal vendetta against the LDS Church, rather due to my personal studies and what Heavenly Father has revealed to me through scripture that those following the LDS gospel most likely spend eternity separated from God. This causes me a lot of pain, since the majority of my family and many of my friends are LDS.
Second, I use this site as my own personal reference to the many scriptures that support the promises Heavenly Father has made to those who will place all of their trust in Him.
Please understand that I have a deep respect for those of the LDS faith. Many times I wish that more evangelical Christians had the same zeal as many Mormons I know.
This site is also designed to provide a defense against the claims made by Joseph Smith when he asserted that God told him "they (all the other churches) were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: "they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof." (Joseph Smith-History 1:19)
The Bible instructs us in 1Thes.5:21 to "Test all things". God calls us to examine our belief systems against the Bible.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
My hope is that this information will help you examine the beliefs of the LDS Church and determine if those beliefs align with the Bible. If the beliefs of the LDS church do not align with the Bible, I pray that you conclude it is "another gospel" as Paul stated in Galatians 1:8-9.
